Biographie :
John Heard est né le 7 Mars 1945 dans la capitale américaine, Washington. En 1964, il sort diplômé de la Gonzaga College High School, puis de la Clark University à Worcester, Massachusetts, en 1968. Une dizaine d'années plus tard (1976-1977), il reçoit un Theatre World Award.

Depuis lors, il fait souvent des apparitions dans certains films et séries TV connues, comme, tout récemment, « Battlestar Galactica » et « Prison Break ».
