Qu'est-ce que Stargate Atlantis ?
La série Stargate Atlantis (ou SGA) n'est autre que le spin-off de la série Stargate SG-1. Le concept est sensiblement le même, sauf qu'ici, au lieu d'explorer la galaxie de la Voie Lactée, nous explorons la galaxie de Pegase, avec toutes les nouvelles richesses et les nouveaux dangers qu'elle comporte. Pegase, c'est avant tout LA galaxie des Anciens, dominée par la mythique cité d'Atlantis. Mais c'est aussi un terrain miné, où les peuples « primitifs » sont soumis à une race au moins autant belliqueuse que les Goa'ulds et aussi forte que les Anciens eux-mêmes : les Wraiths.
Stargate Atlantis vous propose donc d'explorer de nouveaux horizons et ce avec un casting tout beau tout neuf, ou presque. Les rôles principaux sont campés par Joe Flanigan pour le colonel John Sheppard, Torri Higginson pour le docteur Elizabeth Weir en charge de la mission Atlantis, et enfin le très connu (tout du moins dans Stargate) David Hewlett, docteur prétentieux, un poil égoïste, mortellement allergique au citron. En un mot comme en cent, SGA met en scène de nouvelles choses et devient rapidement une plaque tournante de la saga Stargate, puisqu'il y a souvent des crossovers (chemins croisés en français, ndlr) entre Stargate SG-1 et Stargate Atlantis.
